Hope Dollars for Scholars is a volunteer-run scholarship foundation created January 26, 2010. It is an IRS designated 501(c)(3) local public non-profit tax-exempt corporation that receives and distributes charitable funds to support Hope High School area graduates to attend post-secondary education. It is an affiliate of Scholarship America, and operates under its guidance and direction. The purpose of Hope Dollars for Scholars chapter is to raise money to help make post-secondary education more affordable. The chapter has a two-fold purpose: to award scholarships and to create an endowment fund for future funding. Scholarships will be awarded through an application process in a fair, non-discriminatory manner. The scholarship will allow students to use their award at any accredited institution. Graduates will be able to use their scholarship for accredited vocational schools, two or four year colleges, or universities.
